I originally thought this was my father with my older brother, Peter. Rather, as my older sister and Uncle Bill pointed out, it’s a picture of my father, Lionel Bruce Clark, and my Uncle Bill in 1949-1950. My father was around 18-19 years of age. This photograph is scanned from a 6cm x 9cm film negative made by my grandmother Elvie Ruth Bonner (1901-1986). These film negatives retrieved from my grandmother’s belongings and passed through family hands are those moments in time captured within a camera obscura and preserved with chemicals and science. That is the magic of being a photographer.
