Design Technique 15: Scenarios

Sometimes there is a lot to be said for making up little stories. User Stories are provided at the beginning by the client and are a few short sentences on cards which represent a specific achievable minor function of the system. We talked again about writing stories with Personas which are a way of identifying major groups of users. We talked about writing Use Cases which record the system interactions in a formal way in terms of actors playing roles and striving to attain goals. Each technique has its own use and audience. So what about Scenarios? Are writing stories about the interaction as simple as they sound? How do Scenarios come together?

I'm reading Mental Models by Indi Young, a book about understanding users' reasons for doing things and one system for understanding and designing for those reasons.

It's important to understand that when people visit your website they bring with them their own world view, motivations, experience and expectations. And, by working with those factors, we can improve our game significantly by providing them with what they want and need.
