But How Does a Manager Know?
This post-cum-rant has been pulled in its original form, I apologise to anyone I led here who hasn’t read this - lucky those who use our Really Simple Syndication (RSS) I guess. If I know you I might send you the text copy from my hard drive if you’re interested.
It was pulled because the negative slant was probably not conducive to the outcomes I wish to achieve in this area. Especially in relation to the education of government and its flow-on to the education of business. I will be posting some positive ideas around this information space in the near future. There are some things we can do as an industry to push this information into the view of both government and the private sector.
In short, I agree that small business don’t know what they don’t know. It does become very frustrating that managers in government positions don’t know but BELIEVE they do know. It is frustrating to see bad or even incorrect information pushed into this information space simply out of ignorance or laziness or lack of industry understanding.
This needs to be addressed in a proactive way.

Hey Mate, I read the original post (I commented via e-mail).
Nicely edited! You still retain the general ideas you wanted to convey - and that’s significant.
I’m sure you’ll come back to this topic soon enough.

Hi Matt, thanks. Sometimes a good hot headed rant is in order but wisely backed away from before the relationship goes beyond salvage.
Its funny because some government departments are really clued up here and others are sinfully ignorant that there even might be legal obligations, business cases and scientific investigation on usability. What the site should be designed for the user??!!! Arrggghhh!!! Its frustrating meeting people of influence who are not even going to consider that one.
Meanwhile I’ve spent so much time bloggging and doing other stuff I’m now in week 7 of the semester, haven’t got a clue yet how to do all this WAP 2.0 stuff on my desk with the Nokia Software Development Kit (SDK) 4.0… and I have reports due for my internship, and classes to prepare…
ha, yep that’s about how we all are I guess - time poor.
K I better not procrastinate this work any longer. Cheers mate and thanks for dropping by to comment again.
